The honest answer first

No peptide has been shown to slow human aging or extend human lifespan. Nothing on this page has a longevity outcome trial behind it, because such a trial in humans would take decades and none has been completed. What some of these compounds do have is evidence for specific, narrower effects — better skin appearance, higher measured NAD+ levels, a treatment effect in one rare mitochondrial disease. Those are real, and they are not the same claim.

Longevity is the second most searched goal here, and the hardest to write honestly, because the outcome that matters — living longer or aging more slowly — cannot be measured in the timeframe any of these compounds have existed.

What exists instead are surrogate markers: NAD+ concentration in blood, telomere length, mitochondrial function, skin appearance. Moving a surrogate marker is genuinely interesting and genuinely not the same as slowing aging. Many interventions have moved markers and then failed to change any outcome that mattered.

Copper peptide with well-documented effects on collagen synthesis and skin repair.

The catch: The dermatological evidence is the strongest on this page, but it is about skin appearance and wound repair — a cosmetic and tissue-level effect, not a systemic longevity one.

Mitochondrial-derived peptide linked to metabolic regulation and exercise response.

The catch: Genuinely interesting biology, including associations with longevity in some human population studies. No interventional human trial has tested whether giving it does anything.

Sermorelin

Used in anti-aging clinics to raise growth hormone, which declines with age.

The catch: The reasoning is that GH falls with age and restoring it should reverse aging effects. That premise has never been validated, and GH replacement in healthy older adults carries real metabolic risks.

What has the strongest support

GHK-Cu for skin appearance, where there is real human dermatological data — though that is a cosmetic outcome, not a longevity one. Elamipretide has genuine clinical trial evidence, but in a specific rare disease rather than in aging.
